The 'Panama-Gatineau Oil Connection' - between vision and values
Documents such as this are rare these days. Most corporates have a mission statement and a set of core values, but few for as long as we’ve had. The Vision & Values of HANSE Group. Over the past three decades, we’ve worked diligently to stay true to our vision.
Our progress has not been perfect. The expectations of others, and the even higher expectations we have of ourselves, have not always been met. When we’ve made mistakes, we’ve admitted them, we’ve learned from them, and we’ve kept moving forward with even more understanding and a deeper commitment to doing what’s right. That sentiment is more important now than ever.
However, the best intentions mean nothing if we meet clients who share other or even worse values. In this specific case -I will call it the "Panama-Gatineau Connection" - we experience most actually an extremely unpleasant scenario caused by a client's mix of ignorance, insolence and non-performance of a particularly bad type: damage worth approx. $7 M, caused by one or more Canadian Citizen spread over an obscure network of connections, family and affiliates which circumstances are under examination. This is the worse facet of our business!
Meanwhile, offices are closed and furniture seized by the staff and yet the gentlemen and 'President’ are attempting to 'sell the worthless shares' somewhere, and the whole story and tissue of lies start all over again. I would not fail to let you and our brokers- and traders know all this for obvious reasons. Our license holders will find details via HANSE OIL POST (Sanction- and Embargo List) or upon reasonable request.
Regardless of lesson, we must never lose sight of putting our customers first and helping them succeed also financially. Our common vision and distinct values should form the fabric that holds us together wherever we are, whatever we do. As members of the same team, it doesn’t matter what our respective responsibilities are, our levels or titles, what businesses we’re part of, or where we live and work.
Respectfully, Yours Ronald C. Schweitzer, CEO
